Paradox \Par`a*dox\, n. No, that is not her real name but that is what she prefers to be known by and by many standards (including her own), that is what she is. Paradox is a woman like no other that I have met. She is amazingly funny while being absolutely serious, extremely artistic yet blind to her talents, sensitive and kind though brutally honest. Most interestingly, Paradox is someone who stands out in a crowd but gets lost within herself. After being introduced by a mutual friend, Paradox and I hit it off from the first time that we communicated. Our relationship began with prison art at its center though I quickly decided that this woman was someone very special. Her natural artistic talent is amazing though she says her artwork looks like it was drawn by someone using her feet, but truly Paradox is so much more than an incredible artist. She is a woman who sees things as many will never see them; delving beneath the surface of the common and uncovering the essence within. She takes herself with a grain of salt and maybe even a bit of self-loathing while those around her are amazed with what she can bring forth from the simplest concept. Honestly, I have to say that Paradox' artwork is as diverse as she is and ranges from tranquil equestrian masterpieces to the most twisted works of awe inspiring horror known as the 'meat puppet' series. Everything that Paradox draws is truly a creation and bears the mark of something surreal, something that can only be described as a paradox. See some of Paradox' creations on our Prison Art Pages. No matter how talented Paradox is, or how incredible her sense of humor can be, if all that were taken away tomorrow I would still be proud to call her my friend.
