Gina has quickly grown close to my heart as she is a very open person and is someone that I grew to trust quickly. Gina is a wonderful person that gives with all of her heart and has a special love for children. She has been writing my 9 year old daughter letters and making her cards and that makes my daughter so very happy. She keeps a copy of the picture of Gina (above) with her in her school planner. Though Gina has had trauma for most of her life, she is a person who moves on and does not give up. Gina and I got together a couple of times so far in 2007 and each time, I am grateful for her friendship. See pictures of Gina from childhood up to now! She is also very open about her life, her case and her current situation. Gina was charged with a crime and sentenced to death, only to have that sentence overturned after a new penalty trial was held. Since then, Gina has new attorneys that are bringing information to light that was never brought out in her original trial. After reading facts that are in her current appeal that were previously not available, I personally do not believe that she was guilty of the crime for which she was convicted. UPDATE: Gina recently sent me her handwritten account of "The Gina Bonanno Story". It covers her entire life; from her childhood to her case and through her legal battles.
