BighouseArt.com is a non-profit corporation registered in the State of
Washington, and is staffed by 5 directors, none of whom draw a salary, and
all of whom are committed to assisting inmates, regardless of their
artistic abilities. In addition to assisting inmates with the sale
of their artwork, BighouseArt.com also purchases items such as
eye-glasses, clothing, and reading material for inmates as funding will
allow. The staff visits inmates and their families (at their expense) in
states as far away as TX, OK, PA, and MO, and have assisted in compiling
parole packets, and providing testimony at trial. At a death-penalty trial
in TX, while under oath, the president of BHA was asked how much money he
made through BHA and was able to look the prosecutor in the eyes and
honestly reply "Well, at this point I think I am down about $7,000 out of
my pocket."
With BighouseArt.com it is not about making money, but about helping
people. In addition to inmates, those assisted include the innocents of
crime which are comprised of both victims' families as well as offenders'
